18/12/2015 - Deadline for the Small Business Grant Scheme fast approaching

There has been a huge positive response from businesses in the county to the small business grant scheme which was introduced this year by Donegal County Council.  However, with the deadline of the 31st December fast approaching businesses are being urged not to miss this opportunity of availing of this grant scheme.

The Scheme provides for a grant of up to 5% of the annual rates bill on each commercial rated premises, subject to a maximum annual grant of €250 and subject to certain terms and conditions being met.

The grant is payable by means of a reduction in the annual rate bill for the commercial premises and is applied at the end of the financial year.

In order to be eligible for this grant, businesses must ensure that their rates bill is paid in full by the 31st December.

With the deadline fast approaching, Patricia McIntyre, Area Manager with Donegal County Council is urging all eligible businesses to avail of this opportunity before it is too late.

“We are delighted with the positive response from businesses in Donegal to this grant scheme.  It is a simple scheme and the only thing that businesses must do to avail of the grant is ensure that their rates are paid in full by the 31st December”.
